The Professional Dancers and Their Body Relationship

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vztahem k tělu u profesionálních tanečníků. Tělo není v psychologii novým fenoménem, přesto tato práce představuje méně tradiční pohled na tělo. Zaměřuje se na vnímání těla a tělovou zkušenost, která se netýká těla ve smyslu postavy, ale spíše těla „vnitřního“. V teoretické části představuji tělo a jeho vnímání z různých perspektiv: z pohledu neverbální komunikace, psychosomatiky, psychoterapeutických směrů pracujících s tělem - Reich, bioenergetika, biosyntéza, Gestalt terapie, focusing a tělesně zakotvené prožívání, přičemž shrnu jejich společné principy vnímání těla. Jedna kapitola je věnována problematice tělových pojmů. V druhé části teorie je představen tanec s jeho historií, vznikem a vývojem taneční terapie a PBSP. V praktické části je popsána výzkumná metodologie. Výzkumnou strategií a metodou analýzy dat byla zakotvená teorie. Cílem diplomové práci bylo zjistit, jaký je vztah k tělu u profesionálních tanečníků. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo sedm profesionálních tanečníků třech tanečních forem (balet, současný tanec, street dance) a psychoterapeutka, která se zabývá prací s tělem. Analýzou a interpretací dat vznikl model vztahu k tělu, který má centrální dimenzi: tělo jako životní partner - tělo jako pracovní nástroj. Vztah k tělu dále popisují tři hlavní kategorie (postoj a přístup k tělu a tělesným signálům, bohatství těla) a čtvrtá kategorie (netělové proměnné), která zvažuje právě vliv taneční formy na vztah k tělu. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že tělo má psychoterapeutický potenciál samo o sobě. Tanečníci, kteří byli blíže pólu tělo jako životní partner, potenciál těla jako psychoterapeutického nástroje objevili, aniž by se aktivně psychoterapie účastnili.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the body relation in professional dancers. The body isn´t a new phenomenon on the field of psychology. However, this thesis presents a less typical viewpoint of the body. It focuses on the body perception and body experience not from the perspective of body appearance, but rather from the perspective of „inner“ body. In the theory I present the body and its perception from different perspectives: nonverbal communication, psychosomatice, Body Psychotherapies - Reich, Bioenergetics, Bisynthesis, Gestalt Therapy, Focusing, while I emphasise their common principles in body perception. In the second chapter I introduce dance with its history, foundation and development of dance therapy and PBSP. In the research I used the strategy of Grounded Theory. The aim of the diploma thesis was to find out what is the body relation in professional dancers. Seven professional dancers (ballet, contemporary dance, street dance) and a psychotherapist (body-oriented) took part in the research. The result of the analysis is a model of the body relation. There is a central dimension with two values: body as a life partner - body as a working tool. The body relation is also described by three main categories (attitude and behavior to body and body signals, body treasure) and the forth category (not-body variables) which considers the dance form variable. One of the main result was that body has its psychotherapeutical potential even out of psychotherapy. Dancers who were closer to the body as a life partner value, found the potential of the body as psychotherapeutical tool.
