Process of reconstruction and development in the Czechoslovak State Railways during the time of two-year plan and first five-year plan

Abstract:

V bakalářské práci je analyzován proces obnovy a rozvoje Československých státních drah se zaměřením na období dvouletého a prvního pětiletého plánu v Československu. V teoretické části práce jsou popsány historický kontext doby po 2. světové válce v ČSR, teoretický koncept centrálního plánování, hlavní cíle dvouletého a prvního pětiletého plánu a význam dopravní infrastruktury v ekonomice. Praktická část práce je věnována organizačním změnám a projektům v rámci ČSD po roce 1945. Na základě dobových rozpočtů a zpráv o plnění zkoumaných plánů jsou porovnávány hlavní úspěchy a neúspěchy dvouletky a první pětiletky v rámci železniční dopravy. Ve velké míře bylo dosaženo plány stanovených výkonů, na druhou stranu docházelo ke zpožďování stavebních prací a k problémům plynoucím z nedostatků železničních vozů.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis is analysed the process of reconstruction and development in the Czechoslovak State Railways during the time of two-year plan and first five-year plan. In the theoretical part of the thesis are described the historical context of the first post-war years, the theory of central-planning system, the main goals of the two-year plan and five-year plan and importance of the transport infrastructure in the economy. The practical part is devoted to organizational changes and projects after 1945 within enterprise Czechoslovak State Railways. On the basis of historical budgets and reports about the performance in the two-year plan and five-year plan are compared their main successes and failures in the framework of rail transport. Although there was success in achieving of specified performance plans, there had been also delays in construction work and the problems resulting from the shortage of railway wagons.
