Cílem práce bylo za využití teorie democratic backslidingu dle trojice autorů Nancy Bermeové a Lustové s Waldnerem zjistit, zda na Slovensku docházelo během vlády Roberta Fica a strany SMER k erozi demokracie, případně o jak velký úpadek se jedná, a zda je Slovensko stále zakotvenou demokracií nebo demokracií defektní podle kritérií Wolfganga Merkela. Abstract:
The aim of the theses was to use the theory of democratic backsliding according to the trio of authors Nancy Bermeo and Lust with Waldner to find out whether there was an erosion of democracy in Slovakia during the reign of Robert Fico and SMER, eventual how big the decline is, and whether Slovakia is still an established democracy or democracy defective according to Wolfgang Merkel's criteria.
