The Origins of Unification: the Chinese Communist Party and the Soviet Union in 20's and 30's.

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská diplomová práce se zaměřuje na období dvacátých let až do roku 1936. Jejím cílem je objasnit vznik tzv. jednotné fronty mezi Komunistickou stranou Číny (KSČ) a Kuomintangem (KMT), která vedla ke spojení dvou politických rivalů proti vnějšímu nepříteli, tj. Japonsku. Práce v první řadě popisuje historický kontext, který poukazuje na dva významné faktory, které ovlivnily vznik jednotné fronty: vnitrostátní (především vztah KSČ a KMT) a mezinárodní (vztah jednotlivých čínských subjektů se Sovětským svazem). Právě role Sovětského svazu a jeho vztah ke KSČ se jeví pro interpretaci vzniku jednotné fronty jako naprosto zásadní a předkládaná bakalářská práce se na tento vztah zaměří. Je podána odpověď na otázky vlivu Sovětského svazu v Číně, jeho vztahu ke Komunistické straně Číny.

Abstract:

The primary purpose of this study is to describe the backround of the two decades in Chinese history leading to creation of the Second United Front against Japan in 1936. The first step is to analyse and define the relations among all political subjects involved in nation-wide resistance against Japan. Both Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Chinese National Party aka Kuomintang (GMD) fought for a chance to govern the mainland from early 20´s to 1936. Recently released evidences provide substantial basis to evaluate the role of all involved parties by reassesing the position of the Soviet Union. In fact, Comintern as the major political party in Soviet Union laid the foundations of the international communist movement and fostered that effort in China as well. This thesis surveys both primary Chinese sources and western scholar´s studies based on newly released sources, and defines the mutual interaction between GMT-CCP struggle and describes the extent of involvement the Comintern in terms of participation in Chinese political scene, and the way the Comintern conducted the nation-wide resistance against Japan.
