The thesis focuses on complications that occur in patients during lower airway suctioning. The theoretical part contains basic principles during suctioning and describes the correct nursing procedure of suctioning with different types of suction catheter. Diplomová práca je zameraná na komplikácie vyskytujúce sa u pacientov počas odsávania z dolných dýchacích ciest. Teoretická časť obsahuje základné zásady pri odsávaní a popisuje správny ošetrovateľský postup odsávania pri rôznych typoch odsávacieho katétra.
