Quality of life of elderly with leg ulcers

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit kvalitu života u seniorů s bércovými vředy a dále identifikovat faktory, jež se na snížení jejich kvality života nejčastěji podílejí. Pomocí dílčích cílů jsme u respondentů zkoumali rozdíly v prožívání dané nemoci dle jejich věku, pohlaví, místa pobytu a délky trvání bércové ulcerace. Metodika: Soubor respondentů tvořilo celkem 103 osob v seniorském věku s diagnostikovaným bércovým vředem žilní a jiné etiologie. Výzkum byl kvantitativního charakteru. Pro sběr dat byl použit generický dotazník SF-12 a převzatý dotazník zjišťující kvalitu života pacientů s chronickými ulceracemi. Výzkum probíhal v deseti zdravotních a sociálně-zdravotních institucích Olomouckého kraje v období od září do prosince 2015. Výsledky: Výzkum prokázal nejvyšší průměrné skóre kvality života seniorů v doméně Tělesné problémy (53,7) a nejnižší v doméně Sociální aspekty (35,4). Nebyl zjištěn vliv věku respondentů ani místa jejich pobytu na kvalitu života. Prokázán nebyl ani rozdíl mezi doménami Psychika a Tělesné problémy ve vnímání kvality života u osob s ulceracemi. Vliv pohlaví seniorů byl zjištěn jen v doméně Psychika. Ovlivnění kvality života osob s chronickými ulceracemi bylo potvrzeno u délky trvání ulcerace v doméně Psychika, SF-12 a Tělesné problémy. Závěr: Kvalitu života seniorů s bércovými vředy ovlivňuje délka trvání chronické ulcerace a pohlaví. Bylo prokázáno, že hodnocení kvality života v doméně Tělesné problémy se zvyšuje s hodnocením v doméně Psychika. Vliv věku ani místa pobytu na kvalitu života seniorů nebyl prokázán. Mezi faktory, které nejvýrazněji snižují kvality života osob s chronickými ulceracemi, byly zjištěny délka trvání bolesti, sociální izolace a délka terapie.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of this research was to determine the quality of life of the elderly with varicose ulcers and to identify factors which most often participate in decreasing their quality of life. With the help of sub-goals, the differences in perception of this illness were investigated in respondents according to their age, gender, the place of residence and the duration of varicose ulceration. Methodology: The group of respondents was created from 103 people in senior age with diagnosed varicose ulcer of venous and other ethology. The research was of quantitative character. For the collection of data was used generic questionnaire SF-12 and adopted questionnaire testing the quality of life of patients with chronic ulceration. The research was carried out in ten health and social-health institutions of Olomouc region in the period from September to December 2015. Results: The research proved the highest average score of the quality of life of elderly in the area of Physical Problems (53,7) and the lowest in the area of Social Aspects (35,4). It has been found that the age of respondents nor their places of residence have not affected their the quality of life. Nor was not found there a difference between the areas of Psyche and Physical Problems concerning the way people with leg ulcers perceive their quality of life. The influence of the respondents´ gender was only identified in the area of Psyche. The quality of life of people with chronic ulceration was proved to be affected by the duration of the ulceration in the areas of Psyche, SF-12 and Physicals problems. The conclusion: The quality of life of the elderly suffering from varicose ulcers is affected by the duration of the chronic ulceration and gender. It has been proved that the evaluation of life quality in the area of Physical Problems is increasing with the increasing evaluation in the area of Psyche. The influence of age or place of residence on the life quality of elderly has not been proved. The factors, which most reduce the quality of life of people with chronic ulceration are the duration of pain, social isolation and the length of therapy.
