The Process of Strategic Goal Setting in a Company

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of corporate strategic goal setting in the context of strategic management. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part presents a theoretical excursion into the field of strategic management, focusing on strategic analysis and its components. The author explains the importance of the analysis for determining the company's strategic goals and presents guidelines, which should be followed when setting corporate objectives. In the second part of the thesis, the theoretical knowledge is applied to analyze Gamma Trading v.o.s., a company operating in the tourism sector. Factors that may have a major impact on future business activity of the company are identified through strategic analysis. Consequently, these factors are evaluated through a SWOT analysis, which represents a synthesis of the results of the strategic analysis and also the basis for the formulation of strategic goals. In the final part of the thesis a set of strategic goals is proposed for the company.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa venuje problematike stanovovania podnikových strategických cieľov v kontexte strategického riadenia. Práca je rozdelená do dvoch častí. Prvá časť predstavuje teoretický exkurz do oblasti strategického riadenia, so zameraním na strategickú analýzu a jej komponenty. Autorka objasňuje význam analýzy pre určenie strategických cieľov firmy a zásady, ktorými by sa podnik mal riadiť v procese ich stanovenia. V druhej časti sú teoretické poznatky aplikované na spoločnosť Gamma Trading v.o.s., ktorá podniká v oblasti cestovného ruchu. Prostredníctvom strategickej analýzy sú identifikované faktory, ktoré môžu mať zásadný vplyv na budúcu činnosť podniku. Následne sú tieto faktory vyhodnotené pomocou SWOT analýzy, ktorá predstavuje syntézu výsledkov strategickej analýzy a zároveň východisko pre formuláciu strategických cieľov podniku. V závere práce sú navrhnuté strategické ciele pre skúmaný podnik.
