Existentialism in Graham Greene’s Novel A Burnt-Out Case
Abstract:
Tato práce analyzuje román Grahama Greena Vyhaslý případ z hlediska existencialismu, a to jak teistického, tak ateistického. Metodou srovnání témat knihy s vybranými texty a myšlenkami předních zastupitelů existencialismu, zejména však filosofií Karla Jasperse, tak obohacuje porozumění knize a jejímu celkovému významu.
Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to analyze Graham Greene’s novel A Burnt-Out Case through the prism of theist and atheist existentialism. Through the analysis carried out with the employment of relevant existential texts by various philosophers (Karl Jaspers in particular) and writers and their comparison to the themes of the novel this thesis enriches the reading of the book and its overall meaning.
