Selected problems in material and production planning processes

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá aplikací metody Value Stream Mapping (VSM) jako nástroje pro zlepšení a digitalizaci procesů v oddělení plánování výroby a materiálového plánování. Samotná teoretická část diplomové práce je rozdělena do několika hlavních částí, zahrnujících vymezení základních pojmů jako Supply Chain Management, Materiálový tok, Informační tok, Vývoj informačních systémů s důrazem na historii a vývoj ERP systémů, a dále se zaměří na charakteristiku a složky Oracle E-Business Suite jako konkrétního ERP systému. V neposlední řadě bude rozebírat aplikace Oracle E-Business Suite v různých oblastech podnikání, včetně jejich role v plánování výroby a materiálového plánování, což poslouží jako teoretický základ pro následnou praktickou část diplomové práce. Praktická část je zaměřena na analýzu současného materiálového a informačního toku. Jsou zde analyzovány jednotlivé články řetězce, určena úzká místa a navrženy možnosti zlepšení pomocí metody popsané v teoretické části práce. Cílem této práce je analyzovat současný stav plánovaných procesů v daném oddělení, identifikovat nedostatky a oblasti pro zlepšení pomocí metody Value Stream Mapping a navrhnout a implementovat digitální nástroje a technologie, které umožní automatizaci a optimalizaci plánovacích procesů. To může zahrnovat použití systémů pro automatický sběr dat, rozšířenou analýzu dat a algoritmů pro lepší predikci poptávky a plánování zásob.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the application of the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method as a tool for improving and digitizing processes in the production and material planning department. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into several main parts, including the definition of basic concepts such as Supply Chain Management, Material Flow, Information Flow, Development of Information Systems with an emphasis on the history and development of ERP systems. Business Suite as a specific ERP system. Finally, Oracle E-Business Suite will be described in various areas of business, including their role in planning production and material planning, which will serve as a theoretical basis for the subsequent practical part of the thesis. The practical part is focused on the analysis of the current material and information flow. The individual cells of the chain are analyzed here, the constraints are determined and the opportunities for improvement by the method described in the theoretical part of the thesis are designed. The aim of this work is to analyze the current state of planned processes in a particular department, identify gaps and areas for improvement using the Value Stream Mapping method, and design and implement digital tools and technologies that enable the automation and optimization of planning processes. This may include the use of automatic data collection systems, extended data analysis and algorithms for better prediction of demand and inventory planning.
