Abstract:

V disertační práci byl stanoven rámec ukazatelů technologických inovací, který spojuje inovace se ziskovostí a hodnotou podniku v chemickém a farmaceutickém průmyslu. Rámec byl testován na nevyváženém panelu velmi velkých společností na příslušných trzích v časovém období přibližně 35 let s využitím popisné statistiky, lineárního modelování a případových studií založených na účetních údajích, údajích z akciového trhu, patentových a regulačních údajích a dalších zdrojích. Bylo zjištěno, že technologické inovační úsilí není ve zkoumaných dlouhodobě orientovaných odvětvích jednoznačným předstupněm ziskovosti ani růstu hodnoty společnosti. Bylo zjištěno, že externí získávání znalostí není nadřazeno internímu vývoji společnosti. Důsledná dlouhodobá adaptace na technologické změny je přínosná, zatímco krátkodobé adaptace nemají takový význam. Souhrnně lze říci, že pro úspěšné zajištění ziskovosti je nutný integrovaný pohled zohledňující technologické inovace a podniková omezení. The dissertation established a framework of technological innovation indicators linking innovation to profitability and corporate value for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. The framework was tested on an unbalanced panel of very large companies in the respective markets over a time period of approximately 35 years using descriptive statistics, linear modelling, and case studies based on accounting, stock market, patent, and regulatory data as well as other sources. It was found that technological innovation effort is neither a unanimous precursor of company profitability nor company value increase in the long-term oriented industries investigated. External knowledge acquisition was found to be not superior to company internal development. A consistent long-term adaption to technology change is beneficial while short term adaptions are not so meaningful. In summary, an integrated perspective considering technological innovation and business constraints is necessary to successfully ensure profitability.
