The Theory of Social Justice in the Age of Globalization

Abstract:

Předložená disertační práce se věnuje problematice sociální spravedlnosti v éře globalizace z pohledu dvou významných zástupců kritické teorie - Nancy Fraser a Axela Honnetha. Po náčrtu historických východisek kritické teorie a teorií obou autorů se práce věnuje perspektivám sociální spravedlnosti v době globálních interakcí. Metodologicky práce vychází z Hrubcovy metody kritické teorie společnosti. Cílem práce je analyzovat teorie obou autorů a s důrazem na pojmy uznání a přerozdělování zjistit, zda je možné jejich smíření a artikulace takových normativních forem, které nejenže překračují národní stát, ale budou schopny obstát v éře globálních interakcí. Teoretické úvahy jsou ověřeny na otázkách spravedlnosti péče, které v prakticko-politickém měřítku slouží identifikaci pozitivních a negativních prvků globálních principů sociální spravedlnosti. Z těchto rozborů je poté vyvozeno, za jakých podmínek může být navržená revize teorií Nancy Fraser a Axela Honnetha předpokladem pro emancipaci žen a spravedlnost v otázkách péče v globálním prostoru.

Abstract:

The presented dissertation deals with the issue of social justice in the era of globalization from the perspective of two important representatives of critical theory - Nancy Fraser and Axel Honneth. After the sketch of the historical foundations of the critical theory and theories of both authors, the thesis deals with the perspectives of social justice at the time of global interactions. Methodologically, this thesis is based on Hrubec´s method of critical theory of society. The first aim of this thesis is to analyse the theories of both authors. The second aim is, with emphasis on concepts of recognition and redistribution, to find out whether it is possible to reconcile and articulate such normative forms that not only cross the national state but will be able to manage in the era of global interactions. The theoretical considerations are validated on the issues of ethics and justice of care, which serve to identify the positive and negative elements of the global principles of social justice on a practical and political scale. From these analyses, it is deduced under what conditions the proposed revision of Nancy Fraser and Axel Honneth's theories can be a prerequisite for women's emancipation and justice in global care issues.
