Application of the WaSiM rainfall-runoff model in the selected watershed in the Moravian-Silesian Region

Abstract:

The main purpose of this work is the application of distributed rainfall-runoff model WaSiM in the selected watershed in the Moravian-Silesian region and to find out the change of total runoff from the selected watershed in dependence on the climate scenarios SRES A1B. The selected watershed is the watershed of the stream Mohelnice. The model WaSiM was used in the Topmodel version. The main aim of this work was parametrization, calibration and validation of the model. The calibration period was the date 15.5.2010 ? 22.5.2010, the validation period was the date 13.5.2014 ? 19.5.2014. There were two versions of calibrated model created. The difference between these two versions was that in the second version the amount of infiltration capacity of the watershed was raised. The result of simulations was quite well fitted maximum discharge of the flood wave in the first calibrated version and the underestimation of maximum in the second calibrated version. In the both versions either in calibration and validation period the model overestimates smaller amounts of rainfall in selected periods. The efficiency parameter Nash-Sutcliffe reached 0,85 in the first version of calibration, 0,75 in the first version of validation, 0,85 in the second version of calibration and 0,82 in the second version of validation. It is expected that the change of the runoff would be smaller by 1,47% (first version) and by 1,39% (second version) in the period 2010 ? 2069 compared to the year 2010 and smaller by 1,42% (both versions) compared to the year 2014. In the period 2070 ? 2099 the increase of the runoff can be expected ? runoff would be greater by 15,97% (first version) and by 14,68% (second version) compared to the year 2010 and greater by 15,64% (first version) and by 13,75% (second version) compared to the year 2014.

Abstract:

Hlavnými cieľmi práce je použitie distribuovaného zrážko-odtokového modelu WaSiM na vybranom povodí Moravskoslezského kraja a zistenie zmeny celkového odtoku z vybraného povodia v závislosti na klimatických scenároch SRES A1B. Zvoleným povodím je povodie Mohelnice. Model WaSiM bol v práci použitý vo verzii Topmodel. Cieľom bola jeho parametrizácia, kalibrácia a validácia. Kalibračným obdobím bolo obdobie 15.5.2010 ? 22.5.2010, validačným obdobím obdobie 13.5.2014 ? 19.5.2014. Boli vytvorené dve verzie nakalibrovaného modelu. Rozdiel medzi týmito verziami bol v tom, že v druhej verzii bola zvýšená hodnota infiltračnej kapacity povodia. Výsledkom simulácií bolo dobré vystihnutie maximálneho prietoku povodne v prvej verzii a jeho podhodnotenie vo verzii druhej. V oboch verziách v kalibračnom aj validačnom období model nadhodnocuje menšie zrážkové udalosti daných období. Miera výkonnosti Nash-Sutcliffe dosiahla hodnotu 0,85 v prvej verzii kalibrácie, 0,75 v prvej verzii validácie, 0,85 v druhej verzii kalibrácie a 0,81 v druhej verzii validácie. Predpokladaná zmena odtoku bude v období 2010 ? 2069 menšia o 1,47% (prvá verzia) a o 1,39% (druhá verzia) v porovnaní s rokom 2010 a menšia o 1,42% (na základe prvej aj druhej verzie) v porovnaní s rokom 2014. V období 2070 - 2099 môžeme očakávať nárast odtoku, a to o 15,97% (prvá verzia) a o 14,68% (druhá verzia) v porovnaní s rokom 2010 a o 15,64% (prvá verzia) a o 13,75% (druhá verzia) v porovnaní s rokom 2014.
