The hygienic significance of exposure to electric and magnetic fields in trams and trolleybuses

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo nejenom zjištění úrovní expozic nízkofrekvenčním magnetickým a elektrickým polím u specifických profesí, jako jsou řidiči tramvají, trolejbusů a technici, ale také zjistit jaké expozice jsou v životním prostředí a tudíž získat možnost porovnat profesionální expozici s expozicí ostatních osob (v tomto případě cestujících v tramvajích a trolejbusech). Velikost expozic magnetickým i elektrickým nízkofrekvenčním polím jak v pracovním, tak životním prostředí byla nízká při porovnání s doporučenými hodnotami a limity uvedenými v evropské či české legislativě. Nejvyšší hodnoty magnetické indukce v rozmezí 50-300Hz byly nalezeny na měnírně napětí při expozici techniků, kde celková magnetická indukce dosahovala v tomto frekvenčním rozmezí 26,35?T, u řidičů byly hodnoty do 1,7?T, zatímco v životním prostředí byla expozice na zastávce o něco vyšší než v měnírnách, magnetická indukce zde byla 34,85?T. Z toho vyplývá, že ne vždy je vyšší expozice v pracovním prostředí. Expozice řidičů tramvají byla vyšší než u cestujících, ale u trolejbusů tomu bylo naopak. Ve srovnání se zahraniční literaturou byly nalezeny na frekvenci 50Hz v tramvajích mírně vyšší hodnoty magnetické indukce od 0,04 do 4,41?T, zdaleka ale nedosahují na referenční hodnotu magnetického pole u 50Hz pro ostatní osoby uvedenou v české legislativě, která je 100?T. Cestování městskou dopravou, čili tramvají a trolejbusem, zvýšilo celodenní expozici magnetickému nízkofrekvenčnímu poli zjištěnou v předchozí studii o 5%, pořád tedy nedosahuje hodnot expozice, jenž by mohla vyvolávat obavy ze vzniku akutní dětské leukémie.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to determine the levels of the exposures of the low frequency, magnetic and electric fields during the practice of the specific professions, as are the tram and trolley bus drivers and technicians.The other task is to determine the levels of the exposures appearing in the environment. Then these two issues are compared - how the professional exposures are related to exposure to other people (in this case to the passengers of trams and trolley buses). The intensity of the exposures to the magnetic and electric low frequency fields, in the environment and also in the professional sphere, is considered low, compared to the recommended values and limits stated in Europian and Czech legislation. The highest values of the magnetic induction, speaking about the exposition to the technicians, were measured in the range between the 50 ? 300 HZ and were found at the voltage converting substation. The overall magnetic induction concerning the measured exposition to the technicians has reached up to the frequency range of the 26,35?T (range related to the drivers was about the 1,7?T). At the environment the level of the magnetic induction was measured about the 34,85?T. The results are pointing at the fact, that the exposures at the professional sphere does not have to be the highest ones. The exposition to the tram drivers was higher than to the passengers, but as for the trolley bus drivers the situation was opposite. The levels of the exposures of the magnetic induction at the trams was considered higher (compared to the datas stated in literature) ? between 0,04 and 4,41?T, but they are far away from the numbers of the reference value of the magnetic field stated in Czech legislation - which is 100?T. Travelling by the public transport (tram or trolley bus) increases the exposure to the magnetic extreme low frequency field up to the 5%. It means it still does not reach the rates of the exposure which could cause the concerns about the inception of the acute children leukemia.
