Procedural terrain deformation has remained an open problem in computer games. Having dynamic objects such as characters and animals interact with the environment makes the scene more immersive and alive. This thesis presents a scalable real-time snow rendering technique implemented on the GPU using compute shaders and hardware tessellation.
