Anotácia:

Cieľom práce je podať prehľad rôznych environmentálne zameraných alternatívnych miest. Práca začína prehľadom historického vývoja miest s dôrazom na environmentálne dopady života v meste. V tejto kapitole definujeme čo chápeme pod pojmom mesto a popisujeme rozvoj miest v 18. až 20. storočí. V nasledujúcej kapitole krátko definujeme základný concept udržateľnosti a nasleduje prehľad najbežnejších konceptov alternatívnych miest – Sustainable city a Smart city a menej bežných konceptov – Self-sufficient city; Green city; Eco city; Townships a Slow city. V záverečnom prehľade sú tieto alternatívne koncepty kriticky zhodnotené.

Abstract:

The main goal of the thesis is to provide overview of the environmentally oriented alternative cities. Thesis starts with historical overview of the cities with emphasis on the city life impact on the environment. We define what do we mean by the term city and we describe evolution of the cities in the 18th – 20th century. In the following chapter we overview the most common concepts of alternative cities – Sustainable city and Smart city as well as minor concepts – Self-sufficient city; Green city; Eco city; Townships and Slow city. at the end of the thesis we offer critical review of the alternative cities.
