Reforma veřejné správy v České republice přinesla řadu pozitivních změn, avšak nedostatky v zákoně o obcích z roku 1990 napomohly značnému roztříštění obecní samosprávy. Proto je dnes v naší zemi 6 258 obcí, z nichž více než jednu polovinu tvoří sídla, která mají méně než 200 obyvatel. The public administration reform in the Czech Republic has brought a number of positive changes, but the shortcomings in the 1990 Municipalities Act have helped to fragment the municipal government considerably. That is why today there are 6 258 municipalities in our country, of which more than half are settlements with less than 200 inhabitants.
