Analysis of the spectrum of radiation detectors

Abstract:

There are several separation algorithms “pulse shape discrimination algorithm” which work in the time domain. This thesis focuses on one of them; pulse part integration method, this pulse part is determined by looking for the certain appropriate fix point time after amplitude point “highest peak” for each pulse. Then use Trapezoidal and Simpson’s integration methods and compare their results with former Rectangle method result. The results of discrimination neutron and photon using Trapezoidal method, Simpson’s method, and Rectangular method are satisfactory although that did not gave completely discrimination in low energy part. However the Simpson’s method and Trapezoidal method gave better discrimination than Rectangular method especially in low energy.
