Historical transformations of phrasemes in journalistic style

Abstract:

Tato práce se věnuje proměnám frazémů publicistického stylu ve dvou zcela odlišných časových úsecích. Vychází z tištěných novin, konkrétně z deníků Rudé právo a Právo. První noviny vycházely v období totalitního režimu, druhé v posttotalitní době. Teoretická část práce představuje publicistický styl, jeho charakteristiku, titulky a jazykové prostředky, ke kterým patří pro tuto práci stěžejní frazémy. Praktická část obsahuje excerpované frazémy, které jsou klasifikované do několika skupin podle funkce. N a tomto základě je provedeno porovnání a závěrečná charakteristika. Dále nastiňuje dobový kontext a také obsahovou stránku deníků, které byly vybrány na základě historických událostí. Cílem práce je excerpce frazémů zmíněných periodik a sledování jejich případných proměn. Metodou práce je kvantitativní výzkum, deskriptivní metoda a metoda analytické indukce, pomocí nichž jsou rozděleny frazémy na základě stanovených kritérií. Práce si všímá použitých komponentů, poskytuje základní obraz o vybraných aspektech zkoumaného problému v daném období.

Abstract:

This work follows changes of set phrases in two distinctly different time periods. It draws from printed newspaper, namely Rudé Právo and Právo. The first journal was published during the totalitarian regime, the second in the post-totalitarian era. The theoretical part of this work introduces the journalistic style, its characteristics, headlines and use of language, especially set phrases which is the key component of this work. The practical part then contains excerpts of set phrases, classified into various groups according to their function, which are then compared and finally defined. This work further introduces the context of the time periods and content of these newspapers based on historical events. The goal of this paper is excerption of set phrases of given time periods and analysis of possible changes. The methodology of this work contains quantitative research, descriptive method and method of analytical induction. Set phrases are then divided by specific criteria through these methods. The work also studies the use of language linked to the influence of the time period, social climate and politics.
