Techniques in Managerial Communications and Negotiations

Abstract:

Annotation HNÁTHOVÁ, Antónia: Techniques of Managerial Communications and Negotiations. [Bachelor’s thesis]. The Bank Institute of the University in Prague, a foreign university in Banská Bystrica. The Faculty of Economics, Evaluation, Social Studies and Law. Tutor: Doc. Ing. Peter Gallo. CSc. The year of the thesis defence: 2013. Number of pages: 64. The bachelor’s thesis focuses on the techniques of managerial communication and negotiations. The first chapter concentrates on a theoretical specification of the term managerial communication and personnel relations. It is divided into four subchapters. The first one explores communication as a socio-psychological process. It offers several views on the definition of communication, its functions, describes a process of communication and kinds of communication. The second subchapter analyses communication in management. It characterizes the personality of a manager and particular managerial styles. This chapter deals with the process and kinds of communication within an organization. The third subchapter describes particular communication techniques – active listening, the technique of asking questions, non-verbal communication, empathy and the techniques of breaking down barriers. The last subchapter concentrates on dealing and negotiating, their particular styles, the techniques of exerting pressure and the ethics in communication. The remaining chapters are devoted to practical application of theoretical knowledge. The second chapter determines the purpose of the thesis – the analysis of communication in a certain company and a method of solution – a questionnaire based on theoretical knowledge. The third chapter describes the results of gathered information. The fourth chapter gives suggestions on how to improve communication and communication techniques within a particular company. The last, fifth chapter, evaluates the overall findings and contribution of the thesis. Key words: communication, manager, managerial, communication, negotiations, negotiating

Anotácia HNÁTHOVÁ, Antónia: Techniky manažérskej komunikácie a jednania. [Bakalárska práca]. Bankovní institut vysoká škola Praha, zahraničná vysoká škola Banská Bystrica. Katedra ekonómie, oceňovania, spoločenských vied a práva. Vedúci práce: Doc. Ing. Peter Gallo, CSc. Rok obhajoby: 2013. Počet strán: 64. Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá technikami manažérskej komunikácie a jednania. Prvá kapitola je zameraná na teoretické vymedzenie pojmu manažérska komunikácia a jednanie. Je rozdelená na štyri podkapitoly. Prvá podkapitola skúma komunikáciu ako sociálnopsychologický proces. Ponúka niekoľko pohľadov na definíciu komunikácie, jej funkcie, popisuje komunikačný proces a druhy komunikácie. Druhá podkapitola analyzuje komunikáciu v manažmente. Charakterizuje osobnosť manažéra a jednotlivé manažérske štýly. Táto kapitola sa zaoberá procesom a druhmi komunikácie v organizácii. Tretia podkapitola opisuje konkrétne komunikačné techniky – aktívne počúvanie, techniku kladenia otázok, neverbálnu komunikáciu, empatiu a techniky odstraňovania bariér. Posledná podkapitola sa zaoberá jednaním a vyjednávaním, ich jednotlivými štýlmi, nátlakovými technikami a etikou v komunikácii. Nasledujúce kapitoly sú venované praktickej aplikácii teoretických poznatkov. Druhá kapitola určuje cieľ práce – analýzu komunikácie vo vybranej firme a metódu riešenia – dotazník, ktorý vychádza z teoretických poznatkov. Tretia kapitola popisuje výsledky získaných údajov. Štvrtá kapitola ponúka návrhy na zlepšenie komunikácie a komunikačných techník vo vybranej organizácii. Posledná piata kapitola zhodnocuje celkové výsledky a prínos práce.
