NAFTA in Contemporary Relations of Mexico and the U.S.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá Dohodou NAFTA v rámci vztahů USA a Mexika v současnosti. V první části této práce jsou objasněna teoretická východiska, tedy vysvětlení pojmů jako prezidentské systémy, zahraniční politika a jak se v těchto systémech vytváří. Je objasněn postoj amerického prezidenta Trumpa stejně jako nově zvoleného mexického prezidenta Lópeze Obradora. Zároveň práce vysvětluje, jaké má dohoda vlivy na obě země z ekonomického hlediska. Jako výzkumná metoda je použita analýza vztahů těchto dvou zemí, které jsou ovlivněny přetrvávajícími problémy jako migrace nebo drogová válka.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the NAFTA within contemporaty relations of Mexico and the U.S. In the first part of this thesis, the theoretical background is explained, ie explanations of terms such as presidential systems, foreign policy, and how these systems are created. It explains the position of U.S. President Trump as well as the newly elected Mexican President López Obrador. At the same time, the paper explains the impact of the deal on both countries from an economic point of view. The research method uses an analysis of the relationships between these two countries, which are affected by persistent problems such as migration or drug war.
