Preparation of malayaite compounds type of CaSn\dindex{1-x}Co\dindex{x}SiO\dindex{5-\recke{delta}}

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá přípravou malayaitových pigmentů typu CaSnx-1CoxSiO5-? dopovaných kobaltem, kde x = 0,005, 0,01, 0,015, 0,025, 0,03, 0,04, 0,055, 0,065,0,075,0,085. Všechny pigmenty byly připraveny klasickou keramickou metodou, přičemž porovnány byly jednostupňový a dvoustupňový výpal. Jako další možná příprava byla zvolena metoda pomocí mechanické aktivace, avšak tato poslední zmíněná metoda byla uskutečněna jen u některých vybraných koncentrací. Jako výchozí suroviny byly použity přírodní mikromletý oxid křemičitý (SiO2), směsný oxid kobaltnato-kobaltitý (Co3O4), oxid cíničitý (SnO2) a srážený uhličitan vápenatý (CaCO3). Cílem práce bylo zjistit barevné vlastnosti malayaitové sloučeniny v závislosti na množství použitého chromoforu, teplotě výpalu a zvolené metodě přípravy, dále pak ověřit aplikační možnosti sloučenin ve smyslu jejich použití k vybarvování keramické glazury a organického pojivového systému. Velikost částic byla stanovena u všech připravených pigmentů a u vybraných vzorků bylo navíc ověřeno jejich složení pomocí rentgenové difrakční analýzy.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the preparation of pigments malayaite type CaSnx-1CoxSiO5-? doped with the cobalt, where x = 0.005, 0.01, 0.015, 0.025, 0.03, 0.04, 0.055, 0.065, 0.075, 0.085. All pigments were prepared by a conventional ceramic method, when the single-stage and two-stage firing were compared. Mechanical activation was elected as next possible preparation method, but these two methods were carried out only for certain selected concentrations. As starting materials were used natural micronized silica (SiO2), mixed cobaltous - cobaltic oxide (Co3O4), stannic oxide (SnO2) and precipitated calcium carbonate (CaCO3). The aim of this thesis was to determine the color properties malayaite compound depending on the amount of the chromophore, the firing temperature and the chosen method of preparation. The application possibilities of tested pigments were studied after dispergation into of ceramic glaze and organic binder system. The particle size was determined for all prepared pigments and the phase compositions of selected samples were verified using X-ray diffraction analysis.
