Preparedness of Emergency Medical Services of Prague for Multiple Extraordinary Events with Mass Casualty Incident

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je připravenost Zdravotnické záchranné služby hl. m. Prahy na vícečetnou mimořádnou událost s hromadným postižením osob, jedná se o téma, které je v poslední době, vzhledem k dění ve světě stále více aktuální. Nácviky mimořádných událostí s hromadným postižením osob velkého rozsahu probíhají v Praze minimálně jednou za rok, ale vždy se jedná o událost probíhající jen na jednom místě. Pokud se však podíváme na teroristické útoky v zahraničí, v mnoha případech se jedná o útok na více místech najednou. V teoretické části své práce se zabývám tím, co je to mimořádná událost, jaké jsou krizové stavy, věnuji se odborné a krizové připravenosti, popisuji, jak vypadá traumatologický plán, jaký je rozdíl mezi medicínou katastrof a urgentní medicínou a jaký je postup Zdravotnické záchranné služby hl. m. Prahy při mimořádné události. Druhá část práce se zaměřuje na popis kazuistiky teroristické útoku v metru na zastávkách I.P. Pavlova a Anděl. Kazuistikou je prezentován případný postup Zdravotnické záchranné služby hl. m. Prahy. Hlavním výstupem práce je soubor doporučení pro zvýšení efektivity zásahu při mimořádné události.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the readiness of the Emergency Medical Service of Prague for a multiple emergency event with mass disability, it is a topic that has recently become more and more current according to world events. Emergency drills with large-scale mass disabilities take place in Prague at least once a year, but it is always a one-stop event, while looking at terrorist attacks abroad, in many cases it is a multi-site attack. In the theoretical part of my thesis I deal with what an emergency is, what are emergency situations, I am devoted to professional and emergency readiness, I describe what a traumatological plan looks like, what is the difference between disaster medicine and emergency medicine and what is the procedure of Medical Rescue Service of the Capital City of Prague in an emergency. The second part of the thesis focuses on the description of a case report of a terrorist attack on the metro at I.P. Pavlova and Anděl. The possible procedure of the of Medical Rescue Service of the Capital City of Prague is presented in the case report. The main output of the thesis is a set of recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of intervention in an emergency.
