The Relevance of Bancassurance in the Isurance Markets

Abstract:

This Master’s thesis called “The Relevance of Bank Assurance in the Insurance Markets” maps historical development, formation and current position of the bank assurance in the world. It also focuses on the process of merging insurance companies and banks, their mutual cooperation and resulting advantages as well as disadvantages for the banks, insurance companies and last but not least also their clients. The crucial part of the thesis is its analytical section that concentrates on comparing distribution of live insurance in the European countries. The goal of this diploma thesis is to define bank assurance as a specialized segment of financial services its importance in the insurance markets. Methods such as induction, deduction or comparative analysis are also used in the thesis. It is important to state that his thesis does not deal with legislative regulations of banks and insurance companies.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca Význam bankopoistenia na poistných trhoch mapuje historický vývoj, vznik bankopoistenia a jeho súčasný stav vo svete. Ďalej sa zameriava na proces spájania poisťovní a bánk, ich vzájomnú spoluprácu a plynúce výhody či nevýhody pre banky, poisťovne a v neposlednom rade klientov. Podstatnou časťou práce je analytická časť zaoberajúca sa komparáciou distribúcie životného poistenia v krajinách Európy. Cieľom práce je vymedzenie bankopoisťovníctva ako špecializovaného segmentu finančných služieb a jeho význam na poistných trhoch. Diplomová práca využíva metódy ako indukcia, dedukcia či komparatívnu analýzu. Práca sa nezaoberá legislatívnou úpravou bánk a poisťovní.
