Jumper's knee

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zpracovat všeobecný přehled týkající se problematiky skokanského kolene. Jsou uvedeny teoretické základy z oblasti anatomie a biomechaniky kolenního kloubu, jejichž znalost je důležitá pro pochopení mechanismu vzniku skokanského kolene a jeho diagnostice. Dále jsou v práci popsány léčebné možnosti používané k řešení tohoto zdravotního problému. Skokanské koleno se často vyskytuje u sportovců, jejichž aktivity přetěžují kolenní kloub častými výskoky, dopady a změnami směrů. Nejvíce se s touto diagnózou setkávají basketbalisté a volejbalisté.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to share and introduce a general overview of what a "Jumper's knee" is. Basic theoretical knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics of the knee joint is mentioned. This knowledge is essentail for understanding its mechanism which furthermore leads to a proper diagnosis. The thesis also describes the treatment options that are used to solve this health problem. "The jumper's knee" is a relatively common diagnosis within athletes whose activities include jumps, drops and changes of direction. The most affected groups are basketball and volleyball players.
