The impact of the registration of a monument on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List on tourism

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, zda má zápis památky na Seznam světového kulturního a přírodního dědictví UNESCO vliv na vývoj cestovního ruchu v dané destinaci. Ke zpracování bylo vybráno sedm evropských lokalit kulturního dědictví (Barcelona, Biskajský most, Brémy, Janov, muzeum Plantin-Moretus, Třebíč a zámek v Něsviži), na nichž byla provedena analýza a vyhodnocení vlivu zápisu památky na Seznam UNESCO na cestovní ruch v časovém období následujících 10 let od příslušného zápisu.

Abstract:

The thesis aims to determine whether the registration of a monument on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List has an impact on the development of tourism in the given area. Seven European sites of cultural heritage have been selected (Barcelona, Bremen, Genoa, Nesvizh, Plantin-Moretus Museum, Třebíč, Vizcaya Bridge) to be analysed and to assess the impact of the registration of monuments on the UNESCO World Heritage List on tourism in the 10 year period following the relevant registration.
