Flood risk assessment in the selected part of the Bystrý stream, Frýdek-Místek district

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem práce bylo zhodnotit povodňové riziko v části toku Bystrého potoka nacházejícího se v obci Janovice-Bystré. Pomocí plochy rozlivu byl zjištěn počet zasažených budov a byly vytvořeny mapy povodňového nebezpečí zahrnující informace o hloubce a rychlosti proudění v záplavové oblasti. V práci bylo využito hydraulického modelování v prostředí softwaru Iber, byly vybrány tři N-leté scénáře (Q5, Q10 a Q100) a porovnány výsledky pro dva Manningovy drsnostní koeficienty (0,035 a 0,075). U Manningova drsnostního koeficientu 0,075 se scénářem Q5 bylo zasaženo 5 budov, u Q10 8 budov a u Q100 13 budov, u drsnostního koeficientu 0,035 byl počet zasažených budov ve všech třech scénářích vždy o jednu menší. Výsledky práce by se daly využít pro účely obce při vytváření povodňového plánu.

Abstract:

The main objective of this work was to assess the flood risk in the part of the Bystré Brook located in the village of Janovice-Bystré. Using the spillway area, the number of affected buildings was determined and flood hazard maps were created including information on the depth and velocity of flow in the floodplain. Hydraulic modelling in the Iber software environment was used, three N-year scenarios (Q5, Q10 and Q100) were selected and results for two Manning's roughness coefficients (0.035 and 0.075) were compared. For the Manning's roughness coefficient of 0.075 with the Q5 scenario, 5 buildings were affected, 8 buildings were affected for Q10 and 13 buildings were affected for Q100, while for the roughness coefficient of 0.035, the number of affected buildings in all three scenarios was always one less. The results of this work could be used for municipal purposes in developing a flood plan.
