The beginning of the Hungarian revisionism

Abstract:

Tématem této magisterské práce je počátek maďarského revizionismu a jeho následné fáze v meziválečném období. Konkrétně je sledována latentní část těchto snah, která začala podpisem Trianonské mírové smlouvy a následně se formovala až do roku 1927, kdy došlo již k v otevřené manifestaci revizionistiského postoje zahraniční politiky Maďarska. Tento zlom je také spojen s postavou lorda Rothermera, jehož článek Hungary's Place in the Sun se ukázal jako klíčový.

Abstract:

The main subject of this MA thesis is to study the beginning of the Hungarian revisionism and the subsequent inter-war period. Specifically, the focus is on the latent part of these efforts which began by the signature of the Trianon Peace Treaty, and continued until the year 1927, when there was the first open manifestation of the Hungarian revisionism in its foreign policy attitudes. This breaking point could be also associated with the figure of Lord Rothermere, whose article Hungary's Place in the Sun proved to be the key one.
