The use of RWCT methods in teaching art history and the theory of practical activities in art lessons at grammar school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce vychází z Rámcově vzdělávacího programu pro střední vzdělávání (RVP - G), školního vzdělávacího programu (ŠVP) konkrétního gymnázia a především z příruček představujících program výukových metod RWCT (Reading and writing for cricital thinking). Cílem práce je aplikace metod RWCT na učební látku předmětu dějin umění na středních školách. Teoretická část představuje nejen výchozí programy RVP a ŠVP z nichž vychází část praktická, ale také program RWCT a jednotlivé jeho metody. Je zaměřena na popis výukových celků představených v praktické části a popis využití jednotlivých metod a práce se studenty. Praktická část diplomové práce je zaměřen na aplikaci metod RWCT na školní vzdělávací program a tématický plán výuky výtvarné výchovy na 4-letém gymnáziu. Nabízí náměty jak využít metody při výstavbě jednotlivých hodin výtvarné výchovy a to především při výuce dějin umění a kultury, ale také teorie výtvarného umění. Zároveň se snaží rozvíjet netradiční přístup k výuce, který studenty vede nejen ke zvládnutí nové látky, ale také k práci s již nabytými vědomostmi a vytvoření struktury sloužící k trvalému uchování informací. Výsledkem diplomové práce jsou modelové metody k výuce výtvarné výchovy na střední škole a také jednotlivé pracovní listy, které po založení do portfolia mohou sloužit studentům místo tradičního školního sešitu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is based on the High-level education plan for secondary education, on an education plan of a specific grammar school, and particularly on guidelines presenting the RWCT (Reading and writing for critical thinking) program of teaching methods. The aim is to devise a teaching program for art lessons at secondary schools while making use of RWCT methods. The theoretical part presents the source programs of the High-level education plan and school-level education plan, which constitute the basis for the practical part, and the RWCT program and its individual methods. It focuses on the description of education units which are presented in the practical part, the description of individual methods’ use, and work with students. The practical part of the diploma thesis focuses on the application of RWCT methods to a school-level education plan, and to a thematic plan of art lessons at a grammar school. It provides suggestions for use of RWCT methods when planning individual art lessons, primarily for teaching art history, and also art theory. At the same time, it tries to develop a non-traditional approach to lessons, helping the students acquire new knowledge, work with knowledge already acquired, and create a structure for permanent preservation of information. The outcome of the thesis are model lessons suitable for teaching art at high schools, and individual working sheets, which can be used by students in place of traditional exercise books.
