How teachers do(n't) lose their illusions. Transformation of ideas about teaching from the view of beginning teachers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá procesem proměny představ začínajících učitelů o učitelství s přibývajícími zkušenostmi. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a empirickou. V teoretické části práce se nejprve zaměřuji na samotnou profesi učitele s jejími specifiky a zvláštnostmi. Dále se zabývám přípravným vzděláváním učitelů, během kterého se představy učitele začínají utvářet, a následně obdobím začínajícího učitele, které je charakteristické jeho profesní adaptací, během níž se představy dostávají do konfrontace s realitou školy a učitel může zažít tzv. šok z reality. V závěru teoretické části pojednávám o profesním rozvoji učitelů, konkrétně pak o zkušenostním a reflektivním učení, prostřednictvím kterého u něj dochází ke změně v jednání, postojích a přesvědčeních o výuce i celkově o profesi. Empirická část si klade za cíl za využití kvalitativní metodologie popsat a analyzovat proces proměny představ o učitelství z perspektivy začínajících učitelů se všemi důležitými aspekty, které do tohoto procesu vstupují a které v něm vznikají.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis deals with the process of transformation of ideas' beginning teachers about teaching by increasing experience. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and empirical part. At first, in the theoretical part of thesis I focus on the itself teaching profession with its specifics and peculiarities. Further, I deal with preparatory education during which teacher’s ideas begin to form and subsequently with the period of beginning teacher which is characterized by his professional adaptation during which ideas come into the confrontation with the reality of school and the teacher can experience so called reality shock. At the end of the theoretical part I deal with the professional development of teachers, specifically with experiential and reflective learning by which he reaches the change in the actions, attitudes and beliefs about teaching and the profession in general. Empirical part aims at using qualitative methodology to describe and analyze the process of transforming ideas about teaching from the perspective of beginning teachers with all important aspects which enter into the process and which are created therein.
