Innovative methods in teaching paramedics

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce bylo zanalyzovat postoje k pregraduálnímu a postgraduálnímu vzdělávání formou inovativních a simulačních metod a postoje k celoživotnímu vzdělávání v rámci zdravotnických pracovníků. Simulační metody byly popsány v teoretické části. Dále jsme se v teoretické části věnovali formám studia, kompetencím zdravotnického záchranáře a také osobností zdravotnického záchranáře. V další části jsme rozebírali dílčí cíle. K dosažení cílů byla použita metoda kvantitativního výzkumu. V empirické části byly nejprve vymezeny průzkumné problémy, na základě kterých byly poté stanoveny pravděpodobné odpovědi. Výsledky postojů byly zapsány do kontingenčních tabulek a dále byly hodnoceny pomocí testu nezávislosti - chí - kvadrát. Dle získaných výsledků jsme analyzovali rozdíl v postoji k celoživotnímu vzdělávání mezi studenty a zdravotnickými pracovníky. Také jsme analyzovali postoje ke vzdělávání zdravotnických pracovníků na základě délky praxe. Dále jsme podrobili analýze postoje k simulačním metodám výuky mezi studenty a zdravotnickými pracovníky. Výsledkem této práce je pozitivní přístup studentů a zdravotnických pracovníkům k inovativním metodám a také pozitivní přístup k celoživotnímu vzdělávání zdravotnických pracovníků. Získaná data z této práce mohou sloužit vedoucím pracovníkům ve vzdělávání jako forma zpětné vazby a zdrojový materiál pro možnost dalšího směřování postgraduálního celoživotního vzdělávání zdravotnických pracovníků.

Abstract:

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze attitudes towards undergraduate and postgraduate education using innovative and simulation-based methods, as well as attitudes towards lifelong learning amongst healthcare professionals. In the theoretical section we describe simulation-based methods. Furthermore, it addresses forms of education, competencies of EMTs (emergency medical technicians) and their personality traits. In the subsequent section, we analyze partial goals using a quantitative research method. In the empirical section, exploratory problems are first defined and probable responses are then determined based on them. Attitude results are recorded in contingency tables and further evaluated using the chi-square test of independence. We analyze the differences in attitudes towards lifelong learning between students and healthcare professionals using obtained results. We also analyze attitudes towards education amongst healthcare professionals based on their length of practice. Additionally, we subject attitudes towards simulation-based teaching methods to analysis amongst students and healthcare professionals. The result of this thesis is a positive attitude of students and healthcare professionals towards innovative methods, as well as a positive attitude towards lifelong learning among healthcare professionals. The data obtained from this thesis can serve as feedback and source material for further directing post-graduate lifelong education of healthcare professionals by education leaders.
