Inventory analysis and inventory management optimization in a pharmaceutical company

Abstract:

Hlavní cíl práce je analýza zásob ve farmaceutické společnosti a identifikace klíčových položek. Dílčí cíl představuje zmapování systému řízení zásob, zjištění nedostatků a navrhnutí řešení. Náplní teoretické části je shrnutí pojmů vstupní logistiky se zaměřením na logistický řetězec, řízení zásob, nákup a zásobování. Dále jsou v práci definovány současné povinnosti pro dovozce, výrobce a distributory léčivých přípravků v ČR. Praktická část charakterizuje současný systém řízení zásob ve sledované společnosti. Kritickými místy jsou identifikována vysoká MOQ a výpadky zboží. Nejdříve jsou na skladové zásoby aplikovány analýzy ABC a XYZ, čímž jsou SKU rozdělena do skupin, kterým je doporučena strategie řízení zásob. Následně se práce orientuje na klíčové položky v portfoliu společnosti, kterým je dle modelu EOQ navrhnuta optimální dodávka a ROP. Na závěr jsou uvedeny návrhy na zlepšení procesu řízení zásob ve společnosti. Těmi mohou být zavedení sledování nových ukazatelů, pojistné zásoby na základě pravidelných ABC analýz, či navrhovaný systém kontroly zásob.

Abstract:

The main goal of this work is the analysis of stock in a pharmaceutical company and the identification of the key items. The partial goal is to map the inventory management system, identify deficiencies and propose solutions. The content of the theoretical part is a summary of the concepts of input logistics with focus on the supply chain, purchasing and supply, inventory management. Furthermore, the work defines the current obligations for importers, producers, distributors of drug products in the Czech Republic. The practical part characterizes the current inventory management system in the monitored company. High MOQs and outages have been identified as critical points. First, ABC and XYZ analyzes were applied to inventory, which divided the SKU into groups for which a strategy was designed. Subsequently, the work focuses on key items in the company's portfolio, which were designed optimal delivery according to the EOQ model and ROP. Finally, there are suggestions for improving the inventory management process in the company. These may be the monitoring of new indicators, insurance stock, based on regular ABC analyzes, or the proposed inventory control system.
