Revitalizing Indigenous Languages: A New Zealand Perspective
Abstract:
The aim of this master thesis is to demonstrate the circumstances of the decline of languages worldwide, to explain the decreasing numbers of native-language speakers in New Zealand, to analyse and to compare the most important revitalization programmes in New Zealand and to justify the purpose of language revitalization.
Abstract:
Cílem diplomové práce je poukázat na okolnosti úbytků jazyků celosvětově, vysvětlit klesající počty mluvčích domorodých jazyků na území Nového Zélandu, provést analýzu a srovnání nejvýznamnějších novozélandských revitalizačních programů a zdůvodnit smysl oživování jazyků.
