Cholesteatóm (CH) stredného ucha je definovaný ako prítomnosť keratinizujúceho dlaždico-vého epitelu v stredouší. Diagnóza je obyčajne vyslovená už na základe anamnézy a otoskopického vyšetrenia. K ozrejmeniu rozsahu ochorenia je potrebné vyšetrenie počítqčovou tomografiou. Abstract:
A cholesteatoma of the middle ear is a squamous epithelium growth behind the eardrum. The diagnosis of cholesteatoma is usually made on otologic examination. In cases in which the dia-gnosis is not obvious, computerized tomography may demonstrate a soft tissue mass with characteris-tic ossicular displacement and erosion of bone.
