The history of the opera´s ensemble of František Xaver Šalda´s Theatre

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje historii operního souboru Divadla Františka Xavera Šaldy v Liberci, které vzniklo v roce 1883. Práce se dělí na deset kapitol. V nich je nejprve stručně popsána historie města a definovány pojmy opera, opereta a muzikál. Následuje krátký popis vývoje divadelnictví na Liberecku od 16. století až po výstavbu nynější budovy divadla v roce 1883. Po jejím otevření už se práce zaměřuje pouze na operní soubor a jeho působení. V posledních dvou kapitolách jsou nejprve shrnuty výsledky dotazníku, který vyplnili členové souboru. Následující část se věnuje analýze a interpretaci hraných představení za posledních dvacet devět let. Výsledkem práce je tedy ucelený pohled na historii ansámblu s velkou prestiží a kvalitou, kterou dokládá úspěchy na soutěžním festivalu Opera.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the history of the opera ensemble in the Theatre of F.X. Šalda in Liberec, which was established in 1883/ This work is divided into ten chapters. The first chapters briefly describe the history of Liberec and key terms are defined, respectively opera, operetta and musical. Following are chapters mapping the evolution of theatre in general in Liberec from the 16th century up to the creation of the current building of the theatre in 1883. After its opening, this work focuses solely on opera company and its performances. The last two chapters firstly evaluate the results of the questionnaires, which were completed by the members of the current opera ensemble and then it analyzes and interprets their performances from the last twenty-nine years. The result of this work is therefore a comprehensive analysis of the history of the ensemble with great prestige, which is proved by their achievements in the competitive Opera festival.
