A Clockwork Orange: Jak může manipulace jednotlivce pomoci při manipulaci se společností

Abstract:

Based on his personal experience with psychological, political and physical violence, Burgess addresses the issue of the power of individual manipulation in order to consolidate a totalitarian form of government. Burgess created the character of Alex, whose journey is full of violence, brutality and manipulation of the individual. This thesis will prove how dangerous social engineering can be in order to suppress individual actions and strengthen absolute power, especially through music, which should otherwise evoke free-thinking in man. Alex's experience will confirm that there is nothing more important to a man than free will and that this is Burgess's central thesis.

Abstract:

Na základě osobních zkušeností s psychickým, politickým i fyzickým násilím se Burgess věnuje otázce síly manipulace jedince za účelem upevnění totalitní formy vlády. Burgess vytvořil postavu Alexe, jehož cesta je plná násilí, brutality a manipulace jednotlivce. Tato práce bude dokazovat, jak nebezpečné může být využití social engineeringu za účelem potlačení individuálního jednání a upevnění absolutní moci, především prostřednictvím hudby, která by jinak měla v člověku vyvolávat svobodné myšlení. Prostřednictvím Alexových zkušeností bude dokázáno, že pro člověka není nic důležitějšího než svobodná vůle a že právě tato myšlenka je Burgessova ústřední teze.
