An image of psychological preparation from the perspective of adolescence tennis player and his coach

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zmapovat psychickou přípravu vrcholového sportovce z pohledu dospívajícího hráče tenisu a jeho trenéra. Výzkumný soubor tvořil hráč tenisu v kategorii staršího žactva a jeho trenér. Výsledky bylo zjišťované na základě kvalitativního výzkumného designu prostřednictvím kazuistik, strukturovaných dotazníků a dotazníkové metody Test of Performance Strategies. Výsledkem studie je zjištění, že vrcholový sportovec i trenér využívají do jisté míry všechny psychologické strategie. Výsledky rovněž poukazují na vztah mezi trenérem a vrcholovým sportovcem jako jeden z hlavních faktorů ovlivňujících výkonnost. Daná zjištění mají aplikační přesah. Pro další zkoumání by bylo užitečné provést studii na větším vzorku a použít také další metody jako jsou rozhovory s rodiči a pozorování vrcholového sportovce pro vytvoření komplexnějšího obrazu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis aimed to map mental preparation of a top athlete from the perspective of adolescence tennis player and his coach. The research sample consisted of tennis players in the category U14 and his coach. The results were determined on the basis of qualitative research design through case studies, structured interviews and Test od Performance questionnaire methods. The result of the study is the finding that the top athlete and the coach use to some extent all psychological strategies. The results also point to the relationship between the coach and the top athlete as one of the main factors influencing performance. The findings have an application overlap. For further research, it was useful to conduct studies on a wind sample and also use other methods such as interviews with parents and observations of the top athlete to create a more complex picture.
