Testing in Scrum methodology and its verification in a real project

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá rozšířením metodiky Scrum o testování. Hlavním cílem této práce je navrhnout metodiku Scrum testování a ověřit její použitelnost na reálném projektu. V této práci je nejprve popsána metodika Scrum a její základní principy, role, ceremonie a artefakty. V další kapitole je navržena metodika Scrum testování, která se zaměřuje na strategie testování, činnosti, artefakty a role. Následující část diplomové práce se zabývá vymezením zkoumané oblasti v rámci metodiky Scrum testování a výběrem metody jejího ověření, kterou je akční výzkum. Předmětem ověření jsou strategie systémového testování, které mají zásadní vliv na fungování Scrum týmu a dodávání nových funkcionalit zákazníkovi. V kapitole je poté každá strategie testování ověřena ve třech po sobě jdoucích Sprintech. V poslední kapitole dochází k vyhodnocení strategií testování v metodice Scrum testování a doporučení použití prvků metodiky Scrum testování v souvislosti se zvolenou strategií testování. Hlavním přínosem této práce je navržení metodiky Scrum testování a ověření strategií testování z této metodiky na reálném projektu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the testing extension for the Scrum methodology. The main goal of this work is to design a methodology called Scrum testing and to verify its applicability in the real project. First of all in this work is described Scrum methodology and its basic principles, roles, ceremonies and artifacts. In the next chapter the Scrum testing methodology is designed which mainly focus on testing strategies, activities, artifacts and roles. The following part of the thesis deals with the selection of research area within the Scrum testing methodology and choosing the appropriate verification method which is action research. The subject of the verification are system testing strategies that have major impact on the Scrum team functioning and delivering new features to the customer. Then each testing strategy is verified in three consecutive Sprints. The last chapter contains evaluation of these testing strategies from the Scrum testing methodology. After the evaluation author provides recommendations to use the Scrum testing Methodology elements in connection with the chosen testing strategy. The main benefit of this thesis is the design of Scrum testing methodology and verification testing strategies from this methodology on the real project.
