Minimal music for saxophone with a focus on Michael Nyman

Abstract:

Diplomová práce stručně přibližuje význam slova minimalismus v různých uměleckých odvětvích. Dále obsahuje velmi stručný životopis skladatele Michaela Nymana a přibližuje jeho tvorbu pro saxofon. Práce opisuje skladby pro různá obsazení - sólo s klavírem, sólo s orchestrem a saxofonový kvartet. Při opisování hudebního vývoje je přihlíženo také k interpretační praxi.

Abstract:

The master thesis shortly describes the meaning of the minimalism word in various art branches. It also contains a very brief biography of the composer Michael Nyman and gives an overview of his work for saxophone.
