Level of physical fitness of children after leukemia

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma Úroveň tělesné zdatnosti u dětí po leukémii zkoumá toleranci na tělesnou zátěž u dětí, které prošly chemoterapeutickou léčbu leukémie. Výzkumný soubor se skládá z 28 bývalých pacientů ve věku od 11 do 17 let. S přihlédnutím k možným zdravotním komplikacím probandů, byl jako test tělesné zdatnosti použit šestiminutový test chůzí. Výsledky testování byly porovnávány s normálními hodnotami běžné populace dětí ve stejném věku jako testovaný soubor. Zároveň byla zjištěna korelace mezi věkem testovaných dětí a výsledky v šestiminutovém testu chůzí. Předpokládané výsledky byly, že děti po léčbě leukémie budou dosahovat horších výsledků v testu tělesné zdatnosti než jejich zdraví vrstevníci a zároveň starší děti budou dosahovat v šestiminutovém testu chůzí lepších výsledků než děti mladší. Použitými výzkumnými metodami byly rešerše odborné literatury, konzultace s hematoonkology a šestiminutový test chůzí.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis on the topic of the Level of physical fitness of children after leukemia examines the tolerance to physical stress in children who have undergone chemotherapeutic treatment of leukemia. The research group consists of 28 former patients aged 11 to 17 years. Taking into account possible health complications of the probands, a six-minute walking test was used as a test of physical fitness. The test results were compared with normal values of the general population of children of the same age as the test set. At the same time, a correlation was found between the age of the tested children and the results in the six-minute walk test. The predicted results were that children after leukemia treatment would perform worse on a physical fitness test than their healthy peers, while older children would perform better than younger children on the six-minute walking test. The research methods used were literature review, consultations with haemato-oncologists and a six-minute walking test.
