Obsahem této bakalářské práce jsou dějiny čáslavského archivu. Je zde popsána historie města Čáslavi, zejména se však tato práce zaměřuje na vývoj městské registratury, vznik Městského a následně i Okresního archivu v Čáslavi, jejich vývoj a ukončení činnosti.
