Maternity during the period of pubescence and adolescence

Abstract:

Diplomová práce shrnuje poznatky o těhotenství a porodu v adolescentním věku. Práce je rozdělená na část teoretickou a výzkumnou. Výzkumná část zkoumá, nakolik je těhotenství a porod rizikovější v období adolescence než v období dospělosti. Pomocí TBSD testu se snaží vystihnout některé osobnostní charakteristiky adolescentních matek. Rozborem dat bylo zjištěno, že adolescentní matky pocházejí většinou z rodin s nižším socioekonomickým statusem. Těhotenství a porod pro ně není rizikovější než pro dospělé matky. Z výsledku testu TBSD vyplývá, že nejsou výraznější rozdíly v osobnostních charakteristikách mezi adolescentními matkami a kontrolní skupinou dospělých matek. V závěru práce jsou navržena možná opatření v rámci prevence časného těhotenství a podpory adolescentních matek.

Abstract:

The Thesis summarizes knowledge connected with pregnancy during adolescence . The study is divided to a theoretical and investigative part. The investigative part focuses on increase in risk of pregnancy and delivery during adolescence when compared with adult age. Using TBSD test, the study tries to point out certain personality features of adolescent mothers. Analysis of data revealed that adolescent mothers come mostly from families with lower socio-economic status and that pregnancy and delivery does not mean greater risk than pregnancy in adult age. The TBSD test results imply that there are no significant differences in personal characters of adolescent mothers when compared with control group of adult mothers. In Discussion, some possible actions for early pregnancy prevention and support of adolescent mothers are suggested.
