Abstract:

Cieľom práce je podať výstižný prehľad vývoja otroctva v Britských kolóniách a analyzovať vplyv Williama Wilberforca na zrušenie obchodu s otrokmi v Britskom impériu. Téma práce je vzhľadom na rozsahovú normu časovo a priestorovo obmedzená. Na základe spracovania archívnych prameňov, odbornej literatúry, originálnych záznamov zo zasadaní parlamentu a iných je v práci vyjadrená charakteristika britského obchodu s otrokmi, popisujú sa počiatky a priebeh abolicionizmu a následné dosiahnutie legalizácie Aktu o obchode s otrokmi. Osobitný zreteľ sa kladie na analýzu parlamentárnych prejavov Williama Wilberforca

Abstract:

The goal of the thesis is to interpret an apposite survey of the development of slavery in the British West Indies and to analyze the impact of William Wilberforce on the abolition. According to given extent standards, the topic is time and spatially limited. On the basis of processing archival sources, scientific literature, original reports from the Parliamentary sittings and other, there are expressed characteristics of British slave trade, described are origins and progress of abolitionism and subsequent Bill of Abolition legalisation. The significant emphasis is devoted to the Parliamentary speeches of William Wilberforce
