Gullies in the Hlučínská pahorkatina hilly land

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá mapováním a analýzou strží na území Hlučínské pahorkatiny. Navazuje tím na předchozí geomorfologické mapování a širší analýzu údolní sítě z roku 2005, ale na rozdíl od něj je zde použita moderní technologie, které tehdy nebyly k dispozici, a to zejména ve formě georadaru, digitálního modelu terénu páté generace a aktuálního GIS softwaru. Hlučínská pahorkatina byla jako geomorfologický podcelek Opavské pahorkatiny výrazně modelována kontinentálním zaledněním v elsterském a sálském glaciálu. V důsledku toho je kvartérní pokryv území tvořen převážně sedimenty ledovcového původu. V těchto sedimentech byly od ústupu zalednění rozšířeny procesy denudace a eroze, které byly ještě zesíleny antropogenní činností při odlesňování a zemědělství. Zájmové území je rozděleno rozvodnicí na povodí Opavy a Odry, z nichž je Oderská část značně členitější a nachází se zde několikanásobné množství aktivních strží. Předchozí výzkum usoudil, že rozdíly v členitosti reliéfu jsou způsobeny zejména rozdíly nadmořských výšek lokálních erozních bází obou částí. Tato hypotéza nebyla potvrzena, mezi Dále měla tato práce zjistit, jestli existuje závislost mezi historickým a současným využitím krajiny a přítomnosti strží, naneštěstí se dostupné historické mapy díky jejich velkému měřítku a ručnímu provedení, ukázaly jako nepoužitelné a současný krajinný pokryv potvrdil hypotézu o přítomnosti aktivních strží v lesních oblastech v protikladu s přítomností neaktivních strží na zemědělsky využívané půdě. Provedeno bylo na vybrané lokalitě také mapování pomocí georadaru, kdy získaná data ukázaly na možnou hustší síť strží před zásahem člověka a jejich pohřbením pod sedimenty, ať už antropogenního či přírodního původu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with mapping and analysis of gullies in the territory of Hlučín Uplands. It follows and builds upon previous mapping from 2005, but in contrast, modern technologies are used here, which were not available at the time, especially in the form of georadar, fifth-generation digital terrain model and up-to-date GIS software The Hlučín Uplands, as a geomorphological subunit of the Opava Uplands, was significantly modeled by continental glaciation in the Elster and Saal glacial periods. As a result, the Quaternary deposits in the area consists mainly of sediments of glacial origin. In these sediments, the processes of denudation and erosion have been widespread since the deglaciation, which were further intensified by anthropogenic activity of deforestation and agriculture. The area of interest is divided by drainage divide to the Opava and Odra river basins, of which the Odra part is considerably more fragmented and there are several times as many active gullies. Previous research has concluded that the differences in the fragmentation of the relief are mainly due to differences in the altitudes of the local erosion bases of both parts. This hypothesis was not confirmed, the correlation coefficients revealed only a trivial or almost zero dependence between the density of ravines and various morphological parameters. Furthermore, this work was to find out whether there is a relationship between historical and current land use and the presence of gullies, unfortunately, the available historical maps, due to their large scale and manual design, proved unusable. The current landscape cover confirmed the hypothesis of the presence of active gullies in forest areas in contrast to the presence of inactive ravines on agricultural land. Georadar mapping was also performed at the selected locality, where the obtained data shows a possible denser network of gullies before human intervention and their burial under various sediment, whether of anthropogenic or natural origin.
