Dynamics and driving stability of vehicles

Abstract:

Stabilita a jízdní dynamika vozidel významně ovlivňuje bezpečnost jízdy, a je tak důležité se touto problematikou zabývat. Práce se v teoretické části věnuje především popisu faktorů ovlivňujících právě stabilitu a dynamiku vozidel. Dále se věnuje asistenčním systémům, které napomáhají aktivní bezpečnosti vozidel, a také popisu různých typů karoserií vozidel. Experimentální část se zabývá vyhýbacím manévrem, při kterém bylo měřeno příčné zrychlení a klopení karoserie u různých vozidel s odlišným typem karoserie. Výsledky ukázaly, že vozidlo s největším náklonem karoserie není automobil s nejvýše umístěným těžištěm (SUV-Kodiaq), jak se před měřením očekávalo, ale vůz s těžištěm umístěným podstatně níže (hatchback-Fabia). Těchto výsledků bylo dosaženo především díky asistenčním systémům a adaptivnímu podvozku, kterými vozidlo Kodiaq oproti vozidlu Fabia disponuje.

Abstract:

Vehicles stability and driving dynamics significantly affect the safety of voyages, and it is consequential to address this issue. The theoretical part of the thesis is mainly devoted to describing factors affecting the stability and dynamics of vehicles. Subsequently, there is a part dedicated to assistance systems that enable actively support vehicle safety, together with descriptions of various vehicle body types. The experimental part of the thesis deals with an evasive manoeuvre where transverse acceleration and body roll was measured on different vehicles with different body types. The results showed that the vehicle with the largest body tilt was not the car with the highest placed centre of gravity (SUV-Kodiaq), as expected before the measurements, but the vehicle with the centre of gravity placed considerably lower (Hatchback-Fabia). These results have been achieved mainly due to the assistance systems and adaptive chassis that the Kodiaq model has compared to the Fabia.
