Everyday life from the point of view of the Ostrava miner during the war

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je analýza zápisků ostravského havíře, které vznikaly v letech okupace Československa Německem. Autorem prací je amatérský básník a spisovatel Jan Lisník, který tvořil pod pseudonymem Jan Stonavsky. Stěžejním pramenem je deník pana Lisníka, který zachycuje období od července do září roku 1944. Deník je psán lašským dialektem a můžeme z něj zjistit jak informace týkající se poměrů na Ostravsku za okupace, tak informace týkající se osoby pana Lisníka. Dalším pramenem je kronika dolu, ve kterém pan Lisník pracoval - Kronika dolu Trojice. První část práce se věnuje situaci na Ostravsku před druhou světovou válkou, především po podepsání mnichovské dohody a po vyhlášení Protektorátu Čechy a Morava. Následující část je zaměřená na každodennost obyvatel Ostravska za okupace, tedy na to, jak válka ovlivnila zásobovací situaci, kulturu a poměry na pracovišti pana Lisníka. Další kapitola je věnována bombardování města Ostravy, především tomu největšímu z 29. srpna 1944. Poslední kapitola popisuje osvobozování Ostravy, které vyvrcholilo 30. dubna 1945, kdy byla Ostrava osvobozena. Práce poskytuje sondu do poměrů obyvatel města těsně před a během druhé světové války.

Abstract:

The main aim of this thesis is to analyse notes of Ostrava miner which were composed during the German occupation of Czechoslovakia. The author is non-professional poet and writer Jan Lisník who wrote under a pen name Jan Stonavsky. The crucial source of information is Mr. Lisník's diary where we can find events dating from July to September 1944. The diary is written in "lašský" dialect and we can find there information concerning the situation in Ostrava and its vicinity during the occupation as well as information concerning Mr. Lisník himself. The next source is a chronicle of mines where he worked - The Chronicle of Trojice mines. The first part of work focuses on situation in Ostrava and its vicinity before the second world war, especially the period after the signature of Munich Agreement and after the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was declared. The next part deals with everyday life of people living in Ostrava and its surrounding villages or i.e. with how the war influenced supply, culture and relationships on Mr. Lisník's workplace. The following chapter is dedicated to the bombardment of Ostrava with an emphasis on the most destructive one which took place on the 29th September 1944. The last chapter describes the liberation of Ostrava which culminated on the 30th of April 1945. The work introduces us to the life of people in Ostrava before and during the second world war.
