Contemporary trends in parenting with focus on children's punishment

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce s názvem "Současné trendy v rodičovské výchově se zaměřením na trestání dětí" se zabývá současnou českou rodinou s přihlédnutím na současné výchovné trendy a využívané tresty při výchově dětí. Celá práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, a to teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část se skládá ze čtyř hlavních kapitol, ve kterých jsou popsány jednotlivé funkce rodiny, výchovné styly a současné trendy ve výchově. Největší pozornost je věnována třetí kapitole, ve které jsou popsány odměny a tresty, jakožto základní výchovné prostředky. V praktické části je představen kvantitativní výzkum, ve kterém bylo prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření zjišťováno, jaké tresty rodiče nejčastěji používají při výchově dětí a zda se ve způsobu trestání odráží jejich zkušenost z dětství.

Abstract:

The major goal of this thesis with title "Modern trends in parenting with focus on pu-nishments of children" is to describe current upbringing trends and kinds of punishments used in parenting in the Czech Republic. The entire thesis is split into theoretical and practical part where theoretical part consists of four chapters, which gives insight into individual functions of family, various upbringing styles and current trends in parenting. The strongest attention is given to the third chapter, which describes rewards, penalties and punishments as fundamental means in parenting. The outcome of Quantitative research (conducted through questionnaire survey) is presented in the practical part of the thesis. Main focus of quantitative research was given mainly to kinds of punishment used in parenting, resp. how kinds of punishments used in their parenting reflects their childhood experience.
