The personality of the architect Karel Valoušek and his construction activities in the Těšín region

Abstract:

Problematika meziválečného Těšínska je poměrně obsáhlé a dostupné téma, avšak produkce architektů působících v meziválečném období tolik obsáhlá není. Zejména pak práce těšínského architekta Karla Valouška dosud nebyla vypracována v žádné odborné publikaci. Tato práce tedy představuje projekty a realizace tohoto těšínského rodáka a zároveň charakterizuje jeho architektonický styl. Důraz je kladen především na meziválečné období (1918-1939), kdy byl architekt Karel Valoušek nejvíce činným. Z jeho počinů nutno zmínit pozoruhodnou stavbu bytového domu v ulici Štefánikova 21, obchodní a obytný dům v ulici Čapkové, či polyfunkční dům v Třinci známý spíše pod jménem "Pětistovka". Text je doplněn fotografiemi a plány daných staveb, díky kterým tato práce získává charakter přehledného katalogu.

Abstract:

The issue of the interwar Těšín region is a relatively extensive and accessible topic, but the production of architects working in the interwar period is not so extensive. In particular, the work of the Těšín architect Karel Valoušek has not yet been prepared in any professional publication. This work therefore presents the projects and realizations of this native of Těšín and at the same time characterizes his architectural style. The emphasis is mainly on the interwar period (1918-1939), when the architect Karel Valoušek was the most active. Among his deeds, it is necessary to mention the remarkable construction of an apartment building in Štefánikova Street 21, a commercial and residential building in Čapková Street, or a multifunctional building in Třinec, which he will write under the name "Pětistovka". The text is supplemented by photographs and plans of the buildings, thanks to which this work acquires the character of a clear catalog.
