Prisoners’ Reading Literacy in the Prison Kuřim

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na čtenářskou gramotnost u odsouzených ve Věznici Kuřim. Prezentuje korelaci mezi odsouzenými navštěvujícími Školní vzdělávací středisko (ŠVS) ve věznici a odsouzenými, kteří o vzdělávání nejeví zájem a ŠVS nikdy nenavštěvovali. Výzkumný vzorek je tvořen 120 odsouzenými, z toho 60 odsouzených navštěvuje ŠVS a 60 odsouzených nenavštěvuje. Teoretická část se zabývá problematikou vzdělávání odsouzených ve věznici, čtenářskou gramotností, mezinárodními výzkumy a faktory, které čtenářskou gramotnost ovlivňují. Vymezuje také čtenářskou gramotnost v rámci Rámcového vzdělávacího programu pro střední školy. V praktické části se práce věnuje čtenářské gramotnosti odsouzených ve Věznici Kuřim. Práce zkoumá dvě výše specifikované skupiny odsouzených, tj. skupinu odsouzených, kteří se ve věznici vzdělávají, s odsouzenými, kteří o nabízené vzdělávání zájem nejeví. Za tímto účelem zde bylo využito dotazníkového šetření a srovnávací analýzy.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on reading literacy of convicts in the Kuřim Prison. It presents a correlation between convicts attending the School Educational Centre (ŠVS) in the prison, and convicts who are not interested in education and have never visited the ŠVS. The research sample consists of 120 convicts, out of which 60 convicts attend the ŠVS and 60 convicts do not attend the ŠVS. The theoretical part deals with the problematics of education of convicts in the prison, reading literacy, international research and the factors that affect reading literacy. It also defines reading literacy within the Framework Educational Program for Secondary Schools. In the practical part the thesis deals with reading literacy of convicts in the Kuřim Prison. The thesis examines a group of convicts who are educated in prison and a group of convicts who are not interested in education. A questionnaire survey and comparative analysis were used for this purpose.
