Analysis of the impacts of import from China on the economy of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na vyhodnocování dopadů dovozu z Číny na ekonomiku České republiky, a to v období let 1995 - 2010. K naplnění cíle byla využita input - output analýza, která dle ČSÚ nebyla minimálně v České republice na tuto problematiku dosud aplikována. V rámci stanovování dopadů byl proto vytvořen inovativní, univerzálně využitelný model, který umožňuje vyhodnocovat dopady dovozů prostřednictvím input - output analýzy. Tento model tak stanovuje komplexnější, číselně kvantifikované dopady za zohledňování meziodvětvových vazeb v ekonomice. Z modelu například vyplynulo, že při neměnném dovozu z Číny by v případě dostatečných výrobních kapacit mohla být souhrnná tuzemská produkce v roce 2010 o 9 912 mil. Kč vyšší, v roce 2005 dokonce o 69 258 mil. Kč vyšší. V závěru práce je upozorňováno na omezení modelu a možnosti, jakými by bylo možné výstupy navazujících analýz zpřesnit.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the evaluation of the impact of imports from China to the Czech Republic's economy in the years 1995 - 2010. To fulfill the goal of this work was used input - output analysis, which at least in the Czech Republic has not yet been applied to this issue. In the context of determining the impacts was therefore created an innovative, versatile model, that allows evaluate the impact of imports through input - output analysis. This model continues to set the complex, numerically quantified impacts for consideration of inter-sectoral linkages in the economy. For example, the model showed that at constant imports from China in the case of sufficient manufacturing capacity could be aggregated domestic production in 2010 higher by 9 912 mil. CZK, in 2005 even 69 258 mil. CZK higher. The conclusion brings to attention limitations of the model and options, how could the outcomes be refined in subsequent analysis.
