Regional Impacts of the Industry Transformation in the Czech Republic with Focus on the Mladá Boleslav Region

Abstract:

V uplynulých více než dvaceti let prošla Česká republika zásadními transformačními změnami, které měly významný dopad na společenské a ekonomické prostředí. Diplomová práce se zabývá ekonomickou transformací na území České republiky po roce 1989, kdy centrálně řízená ekonomika přecházela na tržní systém. Součástí práce je porovnání výchozího a současného vývoje průmyslu v České republice s důrazem na okres Mladá Boleslav. Dále je popsán trh práce v průběhu jednotlivých let, a jaký vliv měla ekonomická krize na průmysl v roce 2009, přičemž se okrajově zmiňuje o situaci v jednotlivých krajích České republiky. V neposlední řadě se práce zabývá hodnocením přímých zahraničních investic, které jsou svou důležitostí nezbytné pro rozvoj české ekonomiky.

Abstract:

In the past twenty years, the Czech Republic has come through a lot of fundamental changes that have had a strong impact on the social and economic environment. This thesis deals with the economic processes in the Czech Republic after 1989, when centrally planned economy has been transformed into a market system. In comparison of the starting point of the transformation with a current state of the industrial development in the territory of the Czech Republic, the Mladá Boleslav district included, is an integral element of this paper. In addition, it describes the labour market in the course of particular years and the influence of the economic crisis on industry in the year 2009; it marginally mentions the situation of individual regions of the Czech Republic too. Direct foreign investments, which are essential for development of the Czech economy, are dealt with in the conclusion of this thesis.
